Good luck on the next 14 laps Sam!

Has anyone run the Cumbrian way ultra and can recommend it - was considering the 73 if it was a good one to do?

If anyone is interested/bored with their Saturday enough to want to watch such a thing, I'm live streaming the start of each round on faceache, it should be visible to non-friends as well

The Cumbria Way Ultra is a good event, STOOSH. I haven't run it but I've worked at a feed station. The route is scenic but not brutal and it's well organised and supported.

14 laps for 50 miles? I thought it was the 'Big Dogs standard' 4.166 miles per lap, so 100 miles in 24 hours... If not, even tougher

The RDs aren't very good at measuring distances, so they claim each lap is a bit under 6km, whereas everyone's tracking devices say more like 6.4km

Either way, 28 is the number you have to complete if you're doing the Slam.

They claim is 5.995 km per loop, but for the official results they use 6.25 km. The RDs just like to make people run that bit further! In the end 1 person ran 29 loops, and 10 finished at 28. 175 km roughly...

8 of the 10 were the grand slam runners. Something like 750 km run over 4 races in one year. Just got to wait until October for the trophy now...
