Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If you're cobbler can't sort the gaiters for you there was a cobbler in London who advertised regularly on the facebook ultrarunning community group as specialising in fitting gaiters for MdS etc.

Thanks re cobbler, I did get recommended a cobbler in London, no doubt the same one. I will get gaiters ordered and get my chap to have a look at them.

Also thanks for the suggestion of Rory Coleman, I will look him up and the book - Rebel & a Runner is out of stock but Reborn to Run is there.

I am back from Jordan and overjoyed that I survived and managed to complete both marathon days. There was time on both days I doubted it but resilience or stubbornness (not sure which) won.

The sand gaiters I feel were the game changer keeping the sand out of my shoes (my local cobbler did them for only £4!)

I came back without a single blister and my legs/body in good shape just a tad tired from what was a full on week in Jordan. Def need to go back to explore more.

Got something to say?

So I thought I would ask if any fetchies have done any of the desert marathons/events before, whether they could share some advice, thoughts, things to consider I may not have thought of.

I've started to compile my kit list big one being desert gaiters (pr...
