I need a year or two to pass so I become delusional and think I can do it You've got a year, plenty of time to be ready for it, at least that's what I'm telling myself! Got to get through Cardiff to London in may first, that should at least prove that it's not the distance but the elevation for me. |

-15 or -16 or so supposedly over the Pennines tonight. Clearly the weather has got its Spine Race dates mixed up.

Peaked too soon. To be honest, I'd much rather be running in this weather; relatively still, firm underfoot and not much rain or snow forecast. We have about 6 inches of crusty frozen snow, and I suppose that could be an issue. My cat can walk on top of it, but I just crash through. Expecting -6 tonight. It's going to get messy when it starts to melt at the weekend. |

That is definitely a good point. John Kelly made a similar observation perhaps last year but certainly recently. Not sure how I’d fancy hours and hours out in this cold. It hasn’t let up for days. I’ve barely taken my hat off, be it for running, walking, at work or even in bed. Okay hyperbole the last bit. |

oops @NDWDave looks like I was on the wrong thread haha. I am very excited to see the Spine unfold, our fabulous club runner Elaine Bisson is back. Have high hopes for her. Not sure if my colleague is going back too, he said he was after he took a bad fall last year - Mike Gregory. Must go and find the participant list. |

It is definitely Spine weather here, temperature outside is around -9c at the moment and dropping.
