It's our club champs track 1500m tonight - never run one of those before. Seems like a long way...

Some open meets at Lee Valley:

Due to the nature of indoor, the standard of competition is likely to be quite high, but there are no pre-reqs for entry, as far as I'm aware.

I may try to find a 3000m event, but certainly wouldn't bother running anything under 1500/mile over winter - far too depressing!

Ok. Someone explain strides to me please. I did 7x50m Strides (on road) today in around the same time as I would run 80m on track...are strides naturally slower? I felt very comfortable throughout, and thought I was pushing it....I did read that strides are supposed to be fast but controlled.

Depends what type of strides you're doing ;)

My track debut for 2008 should be Sunday week at Peterborough
