Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

You can get the heat acclimatisation stuff from only the newer Garmins i assume such as the 265?

For the 255 specifically it's more that they decided not to add it so people had to buy the 955 if they wanted it (there online reports of some 255s having it with some then losing it later and the manual still mentions a heat adjusted VO2 Max. Not sure whether it was added to the 265.

Quick Google suggests the 265 doesn't have it with 965 being the upsell.

I think I had it on my old 945, not sure though.

But, it’s the thing with the Garmin weather service..
Been out all day in temperatures well over 22° exercising, running biking and so on. I got 1 lousy %. Apparently, where Garmin gets it’s measurements, it was only 21° 😂
Well, I still get adapted, but it would be nice to get it documented too.

I've got it on the 745 and I also had the impression that Garmin always is 1°C lower than the official temperature measured here in Leipzig. I suspect that it's taking the temperature from the nearest airport which is always a bit cooler than the city.

Pretty much confirms that Garmin have decided not to add it to the 2 series at this point.

I haven’t looked into it but does the heat acclimation stuff take into account humidity on runs? Humidity has a big impact on me - where I’m at in U.K. it can regularly be mid-90s%, and even if temperature is reasonable, it has a big impact on my pace at that HR.

I can’t see anything to say that it does, Big_G , I don’t get on with humidity either

HRV has dropped back to low from unbalanced again, “can indicate excess strain”

Status strained, training readiness low
- this is being ignored as I’m not exactly over doing the running and taking a fair amount of rest if not actually sleeping very well.

Blaming the weather and taking a rest day by default as overslept anyway.

My BB went down to the low 20s last night and only up to 66 this morning despite sleeping well. I blame the weather.

Awaiting a Detraining status but holding on to Recovery for now.

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
According to my Garmin this morning my body battery was at just 41 and I was "strained"
I have been strained for most days in the last 2 weeks
My body battery has also been low

So today it suggested a threshold run of up to an hour!

What's your Garmin say?
