The Exeter City football team were at Exeter Riverside this morning, most of the squad and a few backroom staff were there. I dont think all registered though, but it was a nice boost to the numbers and will no doubt be well reported in the press in a few days.
I can't imagine Man City or Chelsea doing their local one though!!

A bit of an incident at Dinton this morning. A tree decided to fall down and block the course around 9am

Luckily it didn’t hit anyone and the marshals close by did an awesome job of rerouting people around it. The only issue was the reroute made the course 5.5km long which mean none of the pacers (it was pacer week) got near their times). Still it could have been way worse!

#444, #249, nice. Tree ... interesting.

On cafés, Oriam today was possibly the worst cafe attended. The Performance Centre is the official café, however next to the parkrun parking is a Courtyard by Marriott, which I expect was much better quality and value. And we drove away from it (yes lazy, but there was was a sudden severe downpour) to the bewildering Oriam parking. Bah.

There was an incident involving an elderly gentleman today at my local. I saw it in my periphery and he went down hard, and then clutched his hip. Marshals were there immediately and first aid there in 2 mins, but as I was leaving an ambulance was there, with paramedics wheeling a trolly bed across to him.

Fortunately, the event has since said that the chap is back home now, and hoping to get back to parkrun soon, so that’s good news as it was worrying to see, and the team did incredibly well from what I saw.

Can't believe there's a Marriott at a Uni Dv, that's biggest surprise for me! Surely unis are cheap pubs, not posh(ish) hotels! I guess it's the research park that it caters for? What was the actual cafe bad experience that you had? :-) G
