Thanks for the birthday wishes folks. Wind and rain make a difference so your park run was still bloody good hs! Good runs again Lesley , ugh to wet feet when maybe we don't expect it at this time of year. Me too re the pace you mentioned DubaiR. I also often say I don't care about time but I'm not always being truthful! But those days are gone. 😂 Yeah FF, that would have been the plan as it has been in years up until 2022 but 7.5 is far out of reach currently. Still expecting to " get back" some distances. Our trails have so many nettles MrM2 and leggings would be useful too. 19 miles is ok. I plodded 20. Glad that you're obviously still active Peter and that the marshalling goes well. Only 1.2 miles this morning to round up an acceptable (to me!) weekly total instead of having a rest day. |

It's good to see you posting and back here again @PeterFay after being mia for a while. Still no running yet this month but hopefully I'll get a chance Tuesday. The weather has been unpredictable but we've had a good holiday, back into the city again today to see if we can get tickets for another show. We saw Kathy and Stella yesterday evening, we enjoyed the musical it a great deal. |

Good that you are still with us on this thread Peter. It's very busy now with the demise of the Runners World threads. Thanks Steve, I was amazed that it was 6 weeks ago when I last did the Lymington Woodside parkrun. Well done for this mornings 1.2 miles. I'm glad to hear that you had a good holiday FF, despite the unpredictable weather. Good that you enjoyed the musical. The weather was dreadful this morning, heavy rain 🌧, cold and very windy. Ironically, its now bright and sunny. I had nothing in the tank, so did a Jeff Galloway 3.85 miles. |

Oh my word I’m so sorry I missed catching up here yesterday and missing your birthday @steve45 so sending belated happy birthday wishes and hope you had a lovely day. And also for your running anniversary that is a huge amount of running years! Happy anniversary to you too Dio hope you celebrated well We had a night away in Northumberland and explored Holy Island and Seahouses on the way back, Ellie had the best time in the rock pools. Today did a run with Magsy we went to the Angel of the North and saw some people on a charity walk with a Shaun the Sheep - we often find random stuff on runs! I can totally understand being frustrate by those 4s, but this could be down to avoiding other runners or diverting for a drink you have totally got it in you next time. Personally I am not fast enough to worry about a time I am a completer not competer! 🤣 |

Steve: Happy birthday. GG: you seemed to have enjoyed Northumberland, thanks for the great pic of the 'Angel of the North' I mentioned my disappointment of finishing 2 secs over 4 hours in the York marathon last year. I'm not really a time chaser and it was marathon number 11 but I've always been around the 4 hour mark which is a level I want to hang on to. Being honest, it was mild disappointment and I coped with it far better than I or the non running Mrs Donnie would have predicted. Been away this weekend, annual family trip to North Norfolk coast including mother in law, whose lovely and frustrating in equal measure. Actually enjoyed it. Run tonight was 7.3 and passed 7 in exact 1 hour (to the second!!) YTD: 472.2 |

Close to my neck of the woods @Donnie1. I live in South Lincolnshire but currently away from home on holiday myself, unfortunately back home and back to work tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, @steve45! @, congrats on the 850 milestone. @geordiebells, my partner visited Holy Island for a weekend and stayed on the Island in 2022. She loved it! Even went swimming with the local seal pack. 10km to work this morning. Monday morning is always tough - not keen to get back to the office! |

I bet that was an amazing experience @JackFW I always planned to go to the farnes to dive with the seals and never made it - frustrating as we don’t live far away. Maybe we’ll get round to it one day. @Donnie1I am sore the 3:59:xx will come Hope you had a good break @Festive Flier we are heading your way on Thursday for the week I can’t wait. With wind and wrong shoes that will definitely account for the extra minute and maybe more @hillstrider well done on the 10k result Fab running @Lesley C a forest run sounds lovely. And you’ve clocked up impressive miles so far @ hope all is as ok as it can be. Finally hello @PeterFay good to see you. You’ve clicked up impressive miles @ Need to speak to my physio and hopefully get an appointment before we go away my knee is still playing up and I’m sure it’s inflamed behind the knee it’s not desperately problematic but it is niggling. |

And forgot to say @steve45 the overgrowth is crazy we are losing tarmac paths as the council year on year have not cut back the overgrowth for years and our woodland/fells are almost impassable which really slows the runs as you can’t see what is under your feet Ran this morning I struggled getting out but once I did I struggled turning to come home. Only did 3.3m but enjoyed every step. I was going for a progressive run but bumped into a chap who lives nearby & he’s finally sold their house so was chatting to him as we walked back towards home. He’ll be a miss when he moves. |

Wow, to echo others this thread does move fast! Happy belated birthday Steve, Donnie I can completely understand, being that close, yet on the 'wrong' side! Great picture GG, adore the NE, people, scenery, culture, it's a great place. Last week life went a little haywire so 3.64 miles and then out this morning to log another 4.54 (sorry Steve), aim this week, be a little bit more consistent. |
