The 10 polls before the election was announced gave Labour a 19 point lead. Their lead is now just over 20 points. The Tories are going down. Down to Chinatown. Grant Shapps - he sleeps with the fishes. The question is whether they will be forever banished or whether their spiritual form will survive the destruction of their physical form only to reappear again in Middle Earth in the Age of Men in a different, more beguiling guise. I think reports of their death are being exaggerated but it’s not that difficult to see that they will suffer an insult whose lasting effects could last for ten years or more. Well, that’s what we are hoping for, aren’t we boys and girls? |

We've had about half a tree's worth of material through the letterbox so far. It's mostly too shiny to even make good compost. By far the strangest is one from an Independent candidate. I'll just leave the QR code here for your edification. Basically he has a slightly offbeat theory about time and he speed of light. "Despite multiple submissions and a mailing to 500 physicists no rebuttal of this analysis has been offered".... "In order to best serve public interest, there now seems no other choice but to seek representation to affect positive change."..."I stand for the pursuit of truth and disproof in science, and if you think it is me I ask for your support AND vote." Hmm.... |

I’d bet that guy in Salisbury is one of their more sane candidates. I wonder if Darren toyed with the idea of running for them?

I've had the distasteful experience of agreeing with Johnson and Faragé today With Johnson that Faragé is a Kremlin Stooge. With Faragé that Johnson is a hypocrite |

What I don't get is people's level of hatred towards Labour. I don't mean people on the Left, whose hatred is based on the current Labour leadership's lack of ideological purity (and how they treated St Jeremy), but the general public. I mean, what is there to hate? There's more or less nothing tangible. "Oh, but Labour would be far worse!". How? How could they possibly be? What do these people think Labour would do?

FT reporting Labour is shifting activists and activity from LD/Tory Marginals to Lab/Tory marginals in the SE. ft.com (google 'Labour diverts activists away from Lib Dem target seats' if link doesn't work) |
