My constituency was 8,000 Tory majority in 2019 -- George Eustice, but he's standing down, supposedly to run his own "consultancy" but more likely because he could see the writing on the wall. Liberals (pre-LibDem) used to be big in these parts and this seat has in the past been a three-way marginal. But looks like Labour are in with a shout this time round. LibDem candidate polling very poorly from what I can see. I wonder how much of that is tactical voting.

Writing on the wall = kleptocrats who can no longer see any advantageous position to themselves or their cronies because they won't be in a position to influence stuff.

Looks like they are. Something I agree with them on, it took far, far too long for an obvious decision, that frankly shows them for who they are as much as the decision in the first place.

Precisely. I wasn't personally affected by Covid in such a way that partygate would really grate on me, so I may not be the best person to comment on this.

But I'd largely forgotten about partygate because there's so much other stuff anyway, and I'm never going to vote Tory. So I think this betting scandal, because of the obvious comparisons, has brought partygate back into the consciousness a little more again.

Uh oh! Is this more Tory sleaze or an unfortunate indirect consequence:
