I did yoga for climbers last night. It was billed as being about balance and flexibility but it was core by stealth. Feeling it today.

I did my first yoga session today using the Downdog app. It was tougher than I expected, but I enjoyed it. This is what I learnt:
- It’s not always easy to follow a video on a phone, especially when your face is pressed into a mat. - I can’t do the downdog position
- it was hard on the arms - I have lost lots of upper body strength
- My core is weak - I should have spent longer relaxing at the end, but I was behind schedule

Dio, I find following on a phone gets easier when you get to know the routine - although I'm not sure if that's an option on downdog?

Following definitely gets easier. Even new routines are easy once you get used to the vocabulary. I’m not sure how downdog works but following Adriene is easy now I know her.
Yoga love flow last night. Flowing ones are my preference.

On downdog there are a number of different poses and routines which are selected from and put together. So far I've never done the same sequence twice but I have got to know the individual parts so I can now follow the routine without constantly watching.
Today will be Ashtanga class in the evening.

I missed it yesterday. Going to move my mat into my office and try morning yoga instead.

Yesterday's teaching session was amusing...he wasn't terribly flexible so it was interesting talking him through the various forward folds. His downward dog wasn't too bad. This morning's student went very well...I just need to refine the wording in places when giving instructions.

I should probably get to a real life class more often to ensure I am not doing it all wrong. I do it in my room which has mirrored wardrobe doors so I can see myself but it's not the same is it.

Yes, live classes are good periodically, especially when starting out, just to make sure you're doing things well to avoid accidental injury. Having said that, it's a matter of listening to the body too, so if it hurts back off/stop what you're doing!
