Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Gus, I didn't measure all of my steps yesterday, so 25k was an estimate based on the bits I did measure. The 1600/2000 is a rough calculation too. Could easily be 1500/1900. I just don't think about it or use it as a metric but yesterday I happened to pay *some* attention to *some* of what I did :-)

Lol happy g.

I was amazed that if you multiply my total by seven which is the team size that there are at least six teams ahead of that total and a few of them significantly so. They must all have walking desks.

I agree 30k is a lot. I think 20k per day isn't that tough for anyone actually motivated by the challenge though (assuming they're reasonably fit of course). People will be actively doing more because of the challenge. They'll go back to normal after. Losing the commute is probably the hardest bit ATM as no free steps.

Baz - What is your total? Ask the ones you talk to what they are doing.

My 4 and bit miles today at 8:10 with cadence of 168 gives 1372 per mile. Will vary with speed.

2000-2500 per mile seems to be the estimate for walking on Google.

Agree wrist ones can be prone to counting non-steps. They used to use waist ones a few years back when my work place did it.

My Fitbit thinks I’m cycling if I push the pram with both hands. So now I have to push with my non Fitbit arm.

Joe, yes it has. For anyone with a Garmin have a look at Activities: Steps and click the 1y button at the top for your stats in 12 months. Apparently I did 4,884,395 steps in the last year, that's an average of 13,382 a day.

*Waiting for ptb or Gobi to reply with "it's not the quantity, smart training is what's important"*

I must admit to looking at my annual number of steps CW. I've got a total similar to yours, but I bet Bazo must be 50% above us.

If I was going to cheat with the steps challenge I would put my watch on the dog when we go for walks. She must do 4X what I do, even without the extra number of legs!
