Looks like 45 championship times from 443 finishers at Dorney yesterday, just over 10% of the field.

That's quite high, think the quota for London is meant to be 1000 and you can get in with half marathon times as well.

Not sure those qualifying marks are going to last too long. (For 2022 - men 2:40 full/1:12:30 half ; women 3:14 full/1:28 half)

I’ve currently got a GFA entry for London in October, but would I be able to upgrade to Champs entry if I hit the HM time over the spring? Is it still sub 1:15 for Champs for this year? That seems right on the edge of what might be doable for me if everything falls into place, but 1:12:30 is definitely outside of my current capabilities.

Upgrades are allowed, based on these two sites, but I fear it is 1:12:30

Cheers SS, that’s what I feared. Would’ve been nice to get one London from a Champs start but can’t see me hitting either of the revised times.

Best wishes with the quest - stay well.

‘Just’ dreaming of a gfa berth at a mass-start London is like a mirage fading in and out of view at the moment. What an emotional moment that would be. Here’s hoping.

Come on Brunski, a sub 2.40 is definitely achievable for you, you just need a race to prove it.

Very kind of you to say so Chris but I’m not sure I’ll ever convert as well as you over the longer distances.

If I could lose a stone in weight without losing much power I’d have a fighting chance.

Maybe this has been discussed here before, but am I alone in thinking that a 72 minute half is rather tougher than a 2.40 marathon?

It's clearly harder. I'd say that 72.00 is equivalent to 2.31 ish
