Thanks guys, yes pretty pleased with it. Was good from a learning point of view too. 1) I need to move away from High 5 gels, I was retching when hit the 35k point, they just dont suit me when I need more then 2. Maurten I hear is good so going to test those. 2) Running an even pace made things a lot easier later on, really had to rein myself in for first 10k, the pace just seem so slow/non race like. But didn't feel under much pressure until about 21 mile point. 3) Having a snooze after a race is the best thing in the world, felt amazing afterwards 😄 |

Brunski, I think running in a group would only have gotten me a few seconds faster on Saturday. I only tapered 1 week, previous week to that was 90+ miles, so probably not much more my legs could do. I'm hoping for 2:37 in Berlin with a solid block of training and staying injury free between now and then.

More congrats on the run damo. Re. gels - I mostly use SIS isotonic, which I find watery enough to avoid sickiness. Maurten are good, probably the least sickly sweet taste, but quite a different consistency to other gels - almost chewy.

Nice one Damo. Solid run ! I'm a big Powerbar fan. really suit me. Maurten gels are highly regarded too I hear but not tried them yet. |

MK marathon (scheduled for 3 May) have postponed to end of June, citing "late clarification to govt roadmap, unexpectedly no spectators allowed" And Vitality London 10,000 (scheduled for 31 May) is postponed to later in the year. Hopefully smaller events are still allowed to go ahead. Wrexham Elite marathon course has been moved just over the border to England |

Fuzzy - Do you think MK will go ahead in June, or will it be pushed back again! Not sure whether to carry on training? |

I'm in no better position than anyone else to say But they have gone for after the final date of the roadmap, when everything is meant to be opened up - we'll just have to see how things go If you're flexible with entering other races I'm sure you can use your training to good effect somewhere, it doesn't feel like there's going to be a blanket ban on racing but bigger events might still struggle |

Damo yes heard good things about Maurten but they are expensive My out of date Gu Gels worked well today despite them their advancing years! Bought a box ages ago and just haven't had the need to get through them Anyone tried Tailwind? Very pleasant to drink though due to its volume, not practical to try and as marathon fuel 🙃 |

results.eventchiptiming.com Dust still settling on the results but so far six sub 2:30s and thirty one sub 2:40s at Dorney marathon this morning. I make it 30 male and 16 female London Championship qualifying times, from a max field of 600. That's some conversion rate! |
