Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

You'll get used to it, Pix. eL Bee! was the same for a while. I wasn't, I was more like, "Did that really happen? Did they actually let me walk away?"

MrPix seemed to drop into it without noticing
He went from 5am alarm to 8am wake up straight away not even bothering with me going to bed and getting up 2+ hours before him!

I was like that to start with. Particularly when I knew that a new school term was about to start. Don't get that now though.

Most days, Mr Ness sleeps through me going out for a run. He generally gets up when I return after the run.

My week still has 2 4:40am alarms (swim squad at 5:30), and a couple of other days where I expect to be training by 7am.

Quite often go back to bed after the swim squads mind.

Most of the time it’s just normal life, get the odd moment of ‘whoopppeee no work’. One was today, had some gardening to do - rain finally stopped around 4pm so did it then (took a couple of hours).

Back in the day I would have really resented doing it as it encroached on that precious Sunday late afternoon/evening before the misery of the working week, but cracked on tiday happily knowing doing it now just opens up more time over the week.

I’m joining some ladies for a sea dip at 8am. It’s a good way to start the non-working week. Then I’ll go to the gym before my friends come to visit and we’ll go out for lunch.

My second go at retirement is due to start this morning as my role as acting CEO should cease with the arrival of the new real one. I’ll believe it when she’s actually in the building!
