Sigh
Morning all Just reflecting on the subtle changes pre-and post-retirement here. Pre-retirement (and pre-lockdown), I'd have already been at work for over an hour, having rushed through everything else. Today, I've just finished a leisurely breakfast, after a pleasant hour walking the dog with Jo, and a non-rushed shower. All this change of pace has reduced my stress and snacking, I sleep better, which (in my opinion) has led to this: I don't know if I've ever been on the cusp of being classed as 'normal weight' (by NHS standards) rather than 'overweight' or 'obese', but if I have, it would have been before I started work, about 38 years ago, aged 18. |

Retirement has been weight-neutral for me, but that's from a starting point of "light end of normal range" and with not being the position of having wrestle with hunger/satiety hormones, which I accept is likely to be more privilege than virtue. I do appreciate getting actual meals instead of spending days on end lurching from one desk snack to another.
