Definite struggle week here too. Had a complete motivational fail today mid run. Was about to start some intervals in a bid to rescue something from a 3 mile week but legs and probably head both said ‘no thanks’ and I jogged home.

Thinking it’s probably a sign and I’ll reboot in the new year with marathon training…

Sounds like a bit of a cutback is required Miser. It's not just running load that affects us and it's a stressful time of year for most. Have a few days of running for fun and get back to it refreshed.

yeah there's really no harm having a bit of a break around now except for mattykay perhaps :-)

Yeah it's a hobby guys right!? I've been trying to time it around the winds with mixed success.

I'm staring down the barrel of one of the biggest weeks of my plan today. One day at a time, and trying not to overdo the boozage.

Key workouts are a 22 miler and a 12 with 7@HM pace.

Well it’s either great timing in the holiday or it isn’t depending on your commitments:-)

HM effort is probably a better bet if it's windy again matty.

Well the threshold Run is done.

Averaged 6:18s for the 7 miles in the wind and rain. Way off my best half pace but that would still work out for a 1.22.30.

Feels like a bit of a benchmark sesh in the plan that one.

It's review of the year time!

We've had a decent year again, boosted by a few defectors from the mostly dormant 2:45 thread. jomo_richmond bookended the year with a pair of near-identical 2:41s (including a PB and an amazing 87% WAVA score), whiteflash joined the sub-3 club with a pair of 2:57s, I improved on last year with a new WAVA high score for me and lee78 got so close to 2:45 with a big PB. Unsafe Breadbin was another twofer this year with a solid pair of sub-3s and markgall finally got the monkey off his back with a very strong run - was it ever in doubt? elio got a PB with his 2:54, and Miser a huge improvement for his first sub-3 going all the way down to 2:50. Last but not least, Damo_HAC coolly paced himself to 2:44:59.

Total stats:

9 runners, 12 sub-3s across 9 events

Happy New Year all!

Bowman 🇸🇪
The faster I get, the longer away it feels to manage a sub 3.
Especially with allo the 2:4x runners here.
And today I tanked a 10k, which I thought would give me a good time and confidence for the next sub 3h campaign. It didn’t 😂
Onwards and upwards :)

Very nice running everyone!

Any new takers this year?
