I'm in but its Seville not Valencia Still racking up the miles on the P&D plan, I feel its gonna be touch and go for sub 3. Programme calls for a race this Saturday and 18 miles Sunday. Can't find a suitable race so I'm going to go for a proper effort at Parkrun and make the Sunday another 20+ miler. |

I’ll be taking a shot at Newport marathon JDA. Nominal target is 2:45, but really need to see where training takes me! Excited to get into the marathon training routine again soon. Need to find a way to push the mileage up without breaking and by finding extra time. |

Oh yes Valencia was the last one in Dec. Corrected. Miser, I'm sure you will knock a bit off even with the same training again - more experience, more confident pacing etc. When I was on the upslope I was shaving off a couple of mins each time without really doing anything different. Maybe marginally more miles year on year but I think it was more the cumulative effect of years of training rather than a significantly better program. |

Miser - I agree with jda. I'm going to try to train for a sub 3 at London jda but it's more in hope than expectation. Managed sixteen miles this morning but had to turn back four times because of flooding. |

Good luck LMH - hope the body holds up. I'm still on the tready - a mix of weather and my (improving but not perfect) throat. Got to 90 mins/18km this morning though!

LS21
Hello all, Just popping my head in here to hopefully contribute a bit on the thread. I do almost all of my running on my own, so it's nice to get a bit of virtual support/discussion going on with likeminded folk. Been using Fetch for years but tend not to post on the forums too much. That said I know LMH from elsewhere, and have spoken to a few others on other threads as well. Like a few others here I'm London-bound. Prob right on the cusp of 3 I think - hoping to sneak under this year. I ran 3'00'42 last year, although I have ran a few sub-3s before (first one back in 2010). I tend to broadly follow P+D and Daniels - I mix and match their sessions a little bit, but try and keep to the structure of P+D in terms of mileage, cut back weeks etc. So I'm sure I'll be doing a fair bit of similar stuff to many others. Anyway, I hope this is all ok and I can hopefully contribute a bit, and from a selfish perspective draw inspiration/motivation from here too! Thank you |

Welcome LS21! I think many of us are mostly solo runners, there are a couple of local clubs to me but they mostly run in the dark and rain

Welcome ls21, where did you run your 3.00.42? I’m not convinced London is the fastest course but the support certainly helps drag you around
