After saying I'd do the reps easier on Tuesday I probably did one of my fastest 6 x 1k sessions :D
I struggling a bit with HR training. I think my max hr is pretty low which then puts the rest of my runs fairly low. For example on the last 1k effort I just touched 160 bpm at the end and when doing easy runs I'm normally around 120 bpm. Doesn't feel like it gives me an awful lo of range to play with but may thats because I've never tried

Did today's session indoors as I didn't fancy struggling with a bitter wind.
I also rarely get my pulse up to 160 Chris, but then again my steady pace is often 110 or even lower. Today I peaked about 150 in 5 mins fairly hard and dropped to 115 in the 1 min breaks. Went a bit better than the similar workout 3 weeks ago so maybe all the steady running has kept me in the game despite not really training properly. 13 weeks on Sunday ought be enough for a decent performance if it goes well, but I have no benchmarks to measure up against yet.

I’m guessing things are going to get even colder for you next week jda? I’m tempted to set the treadmill up in the shed as a plan B
Sounds like we are similar on the hr front, maybe I should do some thinking on the hr training. Might give me something else to try

It's forecast to be Baltic here from Monday. I'm not sure I'm going to get out for long with a temperature of feels like -5C. I've had my full winter gear on already! Just hope it doesn't last long.

When it’s just frosty but calm I don’t mind so much. So I’m hopeful of getting out some of the time. A blustery wind however plays havoc with my attempts to keep a strong pace and is also demoralising when I look at how slow I’m going!

Freezing start this morning!
Feeling proper chuffed to get through the toughest week in the P&D plan, finished with 18 this morning with 14 at MP. Tough session on not the freshest of legs.
How's everyone's long runs gone?

Lovely to be out this morning. Just the sort of frosty bright morning I was talking about...doesn't feel too cold when the wind is off. And the couple of dry days recently means there wasn't any significant ice to dodge on the road.
First full 20 miler of the season, so I'm quite pleased with that. Just a minor knee niggle to worry about, but it's not stopping me from running.

Well done matty.
Similarly cold but dry and still morning here jda but I'm a bit behind you with just eighteen miles.

Perilously close to Lancashire mattykay but I did try to keep my eyes on the North Yorks side of the border
It’s actually Ingleborough in the photo but the wide angle doesn’t do it justice.
18 is probably plenty LMH especially as you’ve got a couple more weeks than me - just 13 to Manchester…
