I was on reflection being a bit oversensitive Gobi, humour away. Good brick there.

Sounds like sensible approach SPR.

I was disappointed on Saturday but just think a lack of running caught me out as my 3rd mile was 5.40 pace and the last 30 seconds were sub 5mm.

Needed 5/10 mins to loosen off

Managed my first sub 18 in over a year at stratford parkrun on Saturday. Really happy as only started training with any weekly consistency about 6 weeks ago. Just doing 25-30 miles a week until I know my heads fully back into it.

Last couple of years have been a bit ropey in terms of my running and have had a couple of clubs/bad injuries and large periods of not running at all, so it’s headed in the right direction. Last summer got to a similar point as now but then had surgery and that was that. Haven’t been on fetch for a long time now either.

I ran over a km in 3.20 on Sunday at the end of a duathlon and am surprised to say the least.

Shows that I may get back towards the low 17s this winter

Spr- I am rarely surprised when I race. This has me somewhat confused.

Had I known you were racing so close to my home I might have tried to head over to give you a wave Gobi - good event that one, nice circuit (IMHO). Bit breezy I expect yesterday?

Yep, did it once on an icy day on a MTB (!) and once on a breezy day on a low end road bike. I don't think it helped on either day that I was cycling in a flappy t-shirt, but I did enjoy the second run (once the risk of cramps had disappeared).

My cycling though is disproportionately bad compared to my running.
