Watch it me button pressing, but should be within 1s of marker. Fetch splits even more confused:

I use strava on phone, means starting it during the pre race announcements so it's tucked away in time for the gun. Ditto at finish a delay stopping it. Hence watch as well to take splits manually for comparison.

Should ask Santa for something better I guess!

Nice running rhb, another step toward that sub-17 goal!

I'm going to give Bakewell parkrun a whirl tomorrow, it's up and down the Monsal trail, so surface not quite pefect (standard compacted stony trail) but should be nice and dry and decent to run on. The Monsal trail was the scene of my HM PB so hopeful.

Ran 17:20 4 weeks ago at a parkrun with more elevation, however had a virus in-between that I hope/think is just about out of the system.

Getting closer to the magic mark. 19:12 in February at Brueton. 18:30 today at Brueton. 1/2 a stone weight loss has helped, most training has been easy runs.

My Bakewell parkrun effort was pretty terrible, felt bunged up ears/nose/throat on way over in the car, gave myself a chance with a 5:39 first mile (uphill), turned in just under 9 but I was struggling to hold pace and as soon as the PB wasn't there my mind drifted and I just coasted the last mile or so.

Ended up with about 18:14, my glands were throbbing and felt pretty crap. Ready for my holiday (Wednesday) and not going to train as such for a couple weeks, just go for runs when I feel like it.

Heart rate didn't get particularly high, so know I've still got some fitness when I'm over the illness and can breath a little easier.

17.51 at Cannock - tougher course same result. Progress for sure

Funny, also did a 5.39 first mile

Need to go to a fast course

Well done NN, & DaveA. Unlucky Brunski but sounds explainable so rest up & return once better.

Ran again today, clubmates 'leaving parkrun', no watch to check hr or take splits so just on feel around breathing rate. Felt easier but strava says similar HR effort for 17.37, makes sense given Thurs night effort.

Faster than planned whilst feeling comfortable is great but defo highlighted a need to recalibrate my running on feel for faster stuff as today will impact upcoming days.
