Aquarius, Yes, it's odd that parts of the forest are bone dry, whereas others are wet and muddy.

I think that you are correct, in that these days hardly anyone reads or follows the Highway Code. Unfortunately, Sarah F's son was involved in a road accident several days ago and both legs were broken. He is in hospital and awaiting an operation.

It's always wise to replace tyres when the tread starts wearing down. I hope that your car passes its MoT first time.

It's odd, isn't it, how things seem to come in threes. It does seem that your phone battery "has died." I've no idea how long they are supposed to last, but I tend to replace mine after 3 years, which is when I have finished paying for them. I think mine only has one more payment outstanding, so will have to decide whether to replace it, or keep it for a few more months.

Just the usual Tuesday Farmers Walk this morning.

Aquarius thanks, yes just back from a trip to Manchester and mum and baby both doing well. Like you I hate driving now. Everyone seems to be going faster whereas I'm getting slower. So many angry people out there.

Nice work hillstrider- I guess the forest is dryer every day now?
Good news on the car mot Wtnmel, love the collection service. I got a newish car a few months back. This one is a hybrid. It's full of clever tech too. Absolutely love it...

Steady running here. Starting to ramp up the miles and longer runs for Chester marathon in October.

0061, It's good to hear that mum and baby are both doing well. I'm definitely driving slower these days, but never was "a boy racer!"

Thanks, the forest is drying out, but today's steady rain hasn't helped.

That's good, a newish car with lots of clever tech. Can it still play CD's? I know most newish cars can't.

Good that you are adapting your training runs in readiness for the Chester Marathon in October.

This morning I ran a solo 12k in the New Forest. There was consistent steady rain, and brisk wind. I managed to do most of the run on gravel trails, so didn't encounter much mud. I didn't see any other runners, which is unusual. Perhaps the weather put them off.

No cds hillstrider. My last car had a fancy music box which would record your cds so you didn't need go keep them in the car, and created playlists etc. I really miss it. I have music on my watch for running, and still play cds at home on an old portable player. In the car I can link my phone via Bluetooth , and generally use iplayer to play programs I missed like 'sounds of the 70s'

Glad your run was OK in spite of the weather

Been busy again so will try and catch up properly tomorrow or at the weekend. We are staying in a Holiday Inn for a change, as it was cheaper than the Premier Inn. It is MUCH nicer than the PI!!

0061, I just play CD's or listen to the radio when I'm driving. I don't drive much these days, so haven't bothered with Bluetooth.

I used to run with an I pod until it could no longer be recharged. By then, they were no longer being sold, so I have run music free. I have a garmin 245 music, but have never used the music function.

WtnMel, enjoy your stay in the Holiday Inn.

Just the usual Friday Farmers Walk this morning.

Hillstrider I have the same issue with my ipod. Shame as lots of good stuff on there. The garmin music feature is very good. I use Schokz the bone conducting headphone so I can still traffic and other important stuff....

0061, I had most of my CD'S on my iPod, which I had added with iTunes. I play them now on my Boom Box. The radio and cassette player no longer work.

This morning was a 29.47 parkrun at Bartley Park.

Hillstrider my daughter created a playlist with all my songs, within her database. This is the one downloaded on my watch. I wish I had way of playing this around the house.

Great parkrunning. We ran Ashington parkrun which was damp but very enjoyable
