Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sharkie thanks!

I did a hilly 3 mile road run last night - 3.04 miles / 553 feet nice and steady. Everything is hilly here

Dipps, Teebs, great strength work :)

No small print from me, Sharkie. I do so little speedwork that anything counts even if the fast bits are run to perceived effort and the recoveries are long enough to be regarded as sheer laziness. Today I'm painfree and was able to go out and do a bog standard jog, so I might try another one next week.

Club track night for me tonight. We did a lucky dip sort of session pulling sets randomly out of some the coach had set - longest was 4 mins hard but mostly they were 30 off/up to 3 mins on. For a total of about 4 miles of speedwork.

I don't love this sort of session as I like having the target of the finishing straight and line to aim for when running on the track ...but I know it's sort of the point to teach you to run at different effort levels and without knowing quite when the end is coming. (But I hope it's back to 400s/800s/1200s next session 🤪)

Any quality sessions to report over the Christmas break? I was impressed by <@>Autumnleaves</@> who kept to her plan which meant running on Christmas Eve and on Boxing Day. No need to run on Christmas Day itself. There's just as much pressure to do so, as opposed to a day off, these days.

I blame Daley Thompson.

Now why didn't my tagging work?

I'd put it off too much so had to run some hills on the 25th. Glad to do them but they weren't quality. Yesterday's home gym session was though - 45 - 55 mins of focused exercises. No let outs, included boring abs stuff and hard work RDLs and Is and Ts.

Ran on both Christmas Eve and Day but have no quality work to report. I have some slopes in mind for reps. Might try some before Lowestoft Parkrun on Jan 1, where I’m hoping for a good time

If rest or easing back is what's needed that is quality in itself. Obvs.

Sharkie did you use the @ symbol below the type box? That’s the easiest way to tag in Autumnleaves

A place to record your quality sessions. Once a week for a kick off, if you can. Doesn't have to be running but for once I'm asking for exercise related stuff.

It has to be a session that you feel ticks all the boxes, something you really commit to, do what you mean to do. No half hearted stuff, but no plod through it either. In the words of my elite sprinter friends, you 'execute'. (Not really my friends it's just what they say on the telly.) Not necessarily hard, a...
