I am off for a tempo-walk i.e. warmup on relatively flat, march uphill, cool down on a downhill...

I did the 5 x 800m interval session today. Recommended pace is 11:15mm and I was close on each (between 11:10 and 11:17) but it felt very steady and Garmin kept nagging me to slow down, so I'm going to up the pace by 30 seconds for next week's session.

Interesting. When I do interval training sessions, I pause my Garmin and don’t include the ‘rest’ section as part of my training run. Have I got that wrong? If so I will start including it.

I set my watch to time my rests and beep to me to count up to the run again. And I want every last 200 metres of the rest to count to my mileage total

I did hill reps, i.e. intervals. It worked out that way today. I am getting marginally faster, which is pleasing.

When I do interval training I include warm up cool down and rest all programmed in to my garmin so beep to rest(recovery jog) and beep to run again.

I have written a blog, with a photo of the field where i did the reps. Recoveries definitely part of the run/walk/session!

I always include my rests as part of the total run. I try to jog the rests or do a combination of walk/jog depending how my recovery feels.

I include the warm up, cool down and recoveries in the total run. They are all required parts of the session, so the mileage I cover in those sections get included in my run log.
