Pretty sure I’ve got mine set so I can see my pace when I’m running, but I’ve got the display so it shows both time elapsed and pace.
Which I use usually depends on the workout I’m doing - so if I’m doing intervals based on time rather than distance, I’ll usually check my pace. For the PJ sessions which are a set distance - especially as I’m using a section of path where there’s a marker every 200m - I look at the elapsed time each 200m to see if I’m on track.

Well I am pleased I managed the threshold run yesterday not at the pace required but fastest I run in a while .I can see each week it will get better. Intervals tomorrow......eek .I have to be careful as rupture achilles hates speed work.

Don't worry I will I rather be slower and Achilles happy.Last time after speed work it took 10 weeks to get back to where it was pain free.

Be careful WP, if it's an ongoing thing speed work should perhaps be a no no.

Threshold run done ✅ My legs currently hate me! Can I just check.. is the suggested pace an average/overall pace for the run or is it the suggested pace for just the tempo part of the run? (My suggested pace seems a bit slow for a tempo pace and I’ve been running the tempo part a lot quicker).

My interpretation was that the suggested pace was for the tempo parts. That said, my tempo session this morning was much quicker than the suggested pace too. I just went for something that felt challenging.

I thought it was just the tempo part too, but had the same moment of uncertainty after my threshold run the other day because the pace seems so steady.

Definitely just for the tempo part.
I think the issue of pace arises because of run walks, and I am not saying that is bad, the pace has been worked out from the 5k time entered. If the 5k was run walk then the intervals and tempo run will be worked out accordingly, however, you can run consistent intervals faster and a short tempo run without walking so this would feel slow to you.
I hope that makes sense to you all. If not I'll try and reword it.
