FF, I think it is an interesting experiment and having nearly broken myself trying to run, I am ultra cautious now not trying to do too much! Although the nordic walking poles release some pressure off the knee, they also encourage you to pace rather faster than normal. It is a fine balance. It will be very interesting what 5 km time I will end up with in the end. I have left my run/walk start time... aiming to be around that time for my walk, rather than be faster, obviously.

I think that I might have to play a joker this week. I didn’t think about the spacing between long run and next run. I did my long run on Saturday and still felt weary on Monday so did intervals yesterday but I need to do Tempo today to complete the three disciplines in a week. I’m not inclined at the moment (for preservation reasons) to do two lots of five miles in two days, so tempo will have to go into the next seven days.

And that is exactly why the Jokers are there ER :) so we can remain sensible. I used two in the second week, as I had the lurgy...

I know H, but I’m a bit anal when it comes to doing things like this. I’ve also got the opportunity to pick up my 75 miles in a month badge too, but I will resist.

Is there anyway I can change my 5k start time without starting again ?

When I joined 2 weeks ago I just put down my fastest 5k in the last couple years. I’ve just done 5k threshold and it’s slower than I put my 1 minute.

Don't break yourself ER, 75 miles though... How about acrecovery run/walk at very easy pace? How many miles do you need today for 75?

RMo3B no there isn't. Stick with what you put in and go with it unless you're not too far in and have nothing clashing within the next 10 weeks.

Be sensible ER, which you are doing, an odd joker here or there won't matter, it's if you're playing them every week that won't help.

I think i'll have a bash at this but starting at a suitable point as i have some races plus want a 'break' before posting a current 5k time now that once i've ran home from work RTS is completed.

It's a 10 week cycle so will aim for the 10th week to be somewhere in early July probably as that suits me best. My long runs will be way over the 60-90 min range as my races are a half and 2 full marathons so long runs will be more like 2-3 hours.

Will do the 5*800 variant for the intervals as its more beneficial for longer distances.

Looked at the current dates and i think i'll be fine with starting this middle or so of next week which gives me time to do a 5k test run probably monday in the cold.

Also allows time to figure out how to set up intervals on this garmin as not done it on this one before.
