One other thought: if you want to protest something and keep the public on your side, don't piss off the public. Piss off the people who make the decisions. It's both bad tactics and bad strategy to make the many angry when they aren't responsible for making the decisions. Most of them sympathise with your aims but they think your methods suck.

Perhaps we could repurpose a few hospitals as prisons, to house all these people who piss off the public. The doctors wouldn't mind retraining as guards I'm sure.

Love that Larkim took me to the 'continued in xx tedious words' to be sure it's satire. JSO, what have they achieved in stopping oil? Zero, what have they achieved in turning people off from their cause? A fuck load. Many people, who may have been won over to the cause have become more entrenched in their oil burning habits because they rail against being bullied and terrorised but what they see as extremists making life difficult for them, I understand that a burning world would be more difficult but that's not the point. Your could argue that they have actually set the cause back rather than advance it. And yes the sentences are too long, but understand that they have been handed out under rules that stand now, not even Starmerman can change that in 2 weeks. |
