Yep. And he upped sticks and moved his HQ to Singapore straight after.

UK officials fear October port chaos unless EU again delays biometric plan Really glad we “took back control”. Before. Seamless. Now. Totally outside at the mercy of all the limitations placed on a country outside the EU. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. You can’t even take a ham sandwich with you. |

Good to see Starmer took the opportunity (or was obliged to?) to pay respects to Diane Abbott as "Mother of the House" now that Harman has left. She's not the longest serving MP, so her "role" is not the same as the "father of the house" one (which at some point will actually be held by a female MP one would hope) so I would guess he had the option to not refer to her. And she was lined up for a speech too I think. Wonder if "bygones be bygones" there? She did look very frail when speaking. |

On the night of the election I started on BBC, couldn't stand Kuenssberg so switched over to Channel 4 (despite Anne Widdecombe and Nadine Dorries). But results didn't seem to be showing up there quickly, so I was also following on social media, via two sources: Twitter (where you very often see news far quicker than on mainstream media), and via this thread! Some of you must have had very good sources of information because I picked up a lot of results here before I'd seen them on the Twitter sources I was following. Impressive!

I stuck with BBC for that reason - C4 didn't *seem* to be cutting to the returning officers very often. I guess it's easier logistically to present a programme than it is to have a network of reporters across all 650 seats.
