I had Twitter and a live map on the Guardian which was excellent for about 2 hours then slowed right down. Last time I covered a count ITN paid me extra to get the result for whoever they were supplying (ITV plus others) before it was on BBC or Sky. Quite often there’s an array of journalists at some counts. In today’s age info gets out very quickly. |

fetch, it wasn't that they weren't cutting to the returning officers, the results weren't even showing up on screen quickly. I don't think either the BBC or Channel 4 covered themselves in glory on the night, by all accounts. Maybe I should have tried Sky or ITV? Same results in the end, though (except perhaps GB News?).

I found that by going to bed, getting some sleep and then waking up in time to hear Liz Truss had the boot and all the results were up on the internet worked well

We thought Sky had the best coverage on the night. I liked BBC Scotland for the Scottish specific results and interviews. Can't stand Alastair Campbell or Nadine Dorries so they were a turn off.

I didn't do fozzy's tactic but on reflection I should have. Stayed up and only got to see Shapps dethronement and then Suella Braverman's acceptance speech. Wanted to see the blood in the water, there was none.

Bob!
Yes, I went to bed about 23.45 after the first results, up at 2.30. Stuck with BBC, because I couldn't stand Dorris after 1 minute. Back to bed at 09.00 for a couple of hours |

My only main regret of the night was missing the Truss result. But it was being very much flagged before I went to bed, so I was happy.

I went to bed about half ten after the exit poll and although I woke a few times and checked the scores, I was too tired to get up
