The clip of Mad Nads trying to say that Johnson came from poverty is hilarious. She seems to leap to the conclusion off the basis that he got a scholarship to Eton.

And on the flip side, Starmer is too posh for socialists because he went to a Grammar School, even though it was voluntary aided when he started. All about ridiculous different contexts ain't it!! |

Glad you noted my consistency! If there are 100+ people on the "government payroll", I'm ok with a handful being selected on the basis of ability and insight rather than political patronage, especially in the early days of government when ministerial expertise will be thin on the ground |

I'm seeing some commentary that the pick of Timpson for prisons & probations might be quite a good one. Also another odd fact about He might be one of the first pair of siblings to hold cabinet positions in consecutive governments for different parties (his brother is Ed Timpson, formerly MP for Eddisbury and solictor general until 2022. |

I'm happy to see so many state educated people in the cabinet. And the first female chancellor, that was well overdue.

Seems a sensible team. Wes Streeting getting into the doctor's pay dispute. No such thing as an easy start...
