You can't yet get a Scottish passport, so it's kind of immaterial, unless he was fishing in international waters in a vessel registered under a flag of convenience?

Jono.
I've suddenly realised how unlucky I am. Forefathers & foremothers born into metal working misery of the black country & refused to go into Europe unless there was a world war occurring.

Wife's forebears are Irish, bloody northern Irish (no offence N Ireland)

Theres a lady in our office whose dad lives in France- currently applying for citizen ship.

Bit of a sad world we're creating for ourselves.

I think if Scotland goes indie, I also have a possible claim on a Scottish (and therefore EU) passport.

I would be availing myself of that option asap.

My brother and his Canadian wife are looking at getting Spanish citizenship. Personally if I had a chance I would like to be a dual British/European citizen.

Where I think democracy has gone wrong is that the older people in this country with their comfortable pensions have denied the younger generation the chance to thrive in Europe. The same people will definitely complain about the queues to get through customs when going to Tenerife and the closing down of the Brit pubs in Spanish seaside towns.

At bottom 17.4M people have stripped away the rights of 65M people to live, learn, work and be educated - without let or hindrance - in the EU. That's for starters. Hurrah for them. What an achievement. Something they can tell their grandchildren about, no doubt. That great day when we got our freedom back by stripping our freedoms away.

Anyone who voted Brexit but has, or intends to get, an EU passport is nothing but a hypocrite who is happy to retain privileges that they are quite content to deny others. Hypocrite is the politest word I can find for them. There's plenty of them about, it seems.

One thing I have experienced is driving change from the bottom up.

There is so much mis-information and we thrive on emotional stuff. So perhaps can begin to educate those we speak to (including here) by doing "fact fights" :).... unless it is your own personal feeling, saying stuff must be backed up with a proven fact from a reputable source.

Nice idea - but a real world opinion is more than the objective facts leading to a proper view of the world. It's how you value various competing trade-offs to make a judgement.
Immigration is a good example - almost universally accepted as necessary for the economy but also a problem for people that want a less mixed society (not too sure how to word that as it's an alien concept, but hopefully you get the drift).
So showing a fact that immigration makes the economy grow by x% will not convince those who value a less mixed society primarily.
As someone said earlier, remain focusing on the economy missed out on swaying people who don't value it so highly.
