Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My husband has Canadian citizenship and both his parents were Scottish. I have an Irish grandfather. We're staying put.

At 57:32. BBC PM programme commissioned a brexit anthem of sorts from the composer of the grand piece that marked GB joining the EU. Can you hear what I do in the final notes?

Jono - if your wife's parents or grandparents were born on the island of Ireland, she is probably eligible to be an Irish citizen and get an Irish passport.

It's the final few bars: borrowed from the ET soundtrack? Maybe I'm looking too far into it!

In my hearing, cellos are tuneful - but rarely cheerful. :)

There is the (not so) small matter that if we in Scotland do become independent (of the rUK) then we are some way short of meeting a range of measures required to join the EU.
So probably best sticking with UK passport as it as a whole could probably rejoin quicker.

Bollox to Brexit and all who sail in her! I'm having an Italian beer with Spanish omelette for dinner. I should probably stop watching the news before I start shouting at it ;-)

Swittle - I think the last few notes might be from the thing Gregson wrote when we joined Europe in the 70s (Fanfare for Europe). I can only find a sample from it, but the motif is in there allmusic.com

I wish I could write like this: https://politics.co.uk/blogs/2020/01/31/the-end-of-the-dream-the-start-of-the-resistance. Dunt has been superb all along, but this is simply outstanding.
