It is low on the list and the government want to keep things open which generate revenue. So as long as they are doing that it would be hard to justify shutting outdoor events. I always keep my distance from the scanners until I've got my breath back. I don't see any reason we couldn't actually scan ourselves.

yesterday I was scanned at the end of the finish funnel! To be fair, I had walked round, it was relatively quiet and there had been over 5mins between me and the finisher in front...

Well done MLG!
I had similar yesterday (with stopwatch bingo rather than position bingo) - I picked up a stopwatch bingo number yesterday (my first since 2018), and I now have just three more to get.

I know about stopwatch bingo (and the running challenge add on which calculates it for us) - is there something similar for position bingo?

I only discovered the 5k ap this week and it could be a 2022 obsession if parkrun is still on.

I don’t expect parkrun to close down again any time soon. Having said that, the outdoors argument misses the point. The argument was never that outdoor events like parkrun were high risk. The argument was that associated behaviours - car sharing, public transport, mingling in cafes - were high risk. Just like the cup final today, fifty thousand in an outdoor stadium is one think, the supporters buses, pubs and so on are something else. Public health officials aren’t stupid. But they look at behaviour science not just epidemiology. When parkruns happen they happen safely but other things also happen as a result that may be less safe. It’s not about whether you’d catch Covid at the event itself.

Merry Fizzmas :-)
I got my stopwatch bingo yesterday on run number 281, which is apparently the exact average (mean) run when by which expected to happen
