Too Much Water
[Sounds like you know what you’re doing - presumably you read HeadforPoints blog or similar. You could transfer as few as 3 points from Amex which would keep your Hilton points alive in case you can’t make the stays. I am Diamond after spending most of the past December living in a Hilton]

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Another vote for Ruchill parkrun DeeGee. The Grosvenor facade was rebuilt 40 years ago after a fire destroyed most of the enormous building. Still very imposing and close to the best bits of the city's West End.

Not sure if it’s too much of a trek for you DeeGee but Hilton Newcastle Gateshead overlooks the Tyne Bridge on the Gateshead side. It’s within 2 miles of both Newcastle parkrun and Leazes parkrun in the North and Gateshead parkrun and Windy Nook in the South of the Tyne. Newcastle Central train station is also nearby.

Newcastle is never too much of a trek for me! Thanks for this.
I can make a weekend of it with a Beamish visit, too. Just under three hours by car, it'll make a late night for the little one but that's a good weekend plan!

I've been wanting to go to Newcastle for a while. Bit of a trek for me but possibly the one part of England that I've not been to. I may pass on the Hilton though, it'll just be a travelodge for me..

I think there's a Hilton near to the Aberdeen parkrun.

Newcastle's parkrun community is very nice. Son is at Uni there, and I've made early morning trips to run the Newcastle (Town Moor) one and Leazes; both lovely, Leazes perhaps the more aesthetically appealing. Still got a few more to tick off; Jesmond Dene looks fun!

Jesmond Dene is fab. We did it in teeming rain.

I quite fancy the Jesmond one, looks a bit like the one at Benton which has a bit of a xc feel about it. My go to parkruns are at the Coast at Whitley Bay and my hometown one in Sunderland- I need to explore more round here.... and there are plenty now!

Son's just been accepted for 4 more years in the Toon so I'll get to enjoy all of the parkruns there; was getting through them and then "lockdown..."
