A new Hilton is due to open this year in Woking, that'll be walking distance from parkrun. As is the existing 'Doubletree by Hilton'. Just had a look at their website and front and foremost as the reason to visit Woking? Legoland, in Windsor, 13 miles away! đ

That and the extremely 'memorable' Pizza Express.

Not sure where's the most appropriate place to share this, so here will do. Cannock Chase 10k have today announced their cancellation for this August, the reason given: "when speaking with Cannock Chase they informed us that the forestry commission will not allow any applications for events prior to July 1st and wont allow any events on their land until September 6th." Presumably that will also apply to all parkruns on forestry commission land. |

Possibly - not clear from that whether it's a local decision or a national one. There was a similar discussion about the communication of a decision regarding an event (not parkrun) at a National Trust site a while back - that implied a 'global' policy but turned out to be applicable to that particular site/region only. Whatever happens in the next few months, there will be a few reluctant landowners and we will all just have to remain patient. |

Delamere FC have already cancelled concerts which were due on their site before 21st June (18th, 19th, 20th if I remember rightly), so that might also mitigate against Delamere parkrun getting an early green light.

To keep your Hilton points alive (assuming you donât have Hilton status or the now no longer issued Hilton Visa credit card which it sounds like you donât), take out the âAmex Rewardsâ credit card. It allows you to transfer the Amex Rewards points into Hilton points without needing a stay

[Cheers TMW. I've got Amex Gold, but I'm trying to earmark the points for a Virgin Atlantic upgrade, and I need to transfer some to KLM for a redemption when the borders are back open. I'm Hilton Silver as a step down from a Status Match challenge 2 years ago, but it's really simple to requalify this year, so I'm going to try. I'd be travelling abroad if I could, but I can't, so it all falls nicely to do some parkrunning] |
