On a linked note, Tom W has set himself up as a consultant I believe since 1st Jan (which would probably be tied into some of his leaving arrangements I'm guessing), but is still singing the praises of parkrun frequently, so doesn't seem to be any "bad blood" in there at least.

Will be interesting to see if this unfolds into drama, I'm not sure leadership has gone too smoothly of late, and few challenges on the horizon....

Looks like Russ Jefferys has popped his head up and had a chat with one of the "bring back the stats" people. Interesting comment that "comments made in the last meeting caused them some challenges". I wonder if sponsors have been asking why parkrun social media has been a binfire for the last year. change.org |

The line about "we all love parkrun" doesn't really match my reading of some of the social media posts. Some of the vitriol, you'd think they hate parkrun rather than love it.

Those plans seem solid enough. Whether I'm happy for parkrun's limited resources being channelled to satisfy the stats people to that extent I suppose depends on how much they end up spending on this. All that though does go some way to explain why they are reluctantly happy with the way the 5K app still shows records etc.

The 5k app is fantastic, those guys are heroes. I moved my monthly donation parkrun to the 5k app. when yhe stats were removed.

With 3,500+ active supporters on plans at £1 minimum, it sounds like not bad scratch he is taking in.
