So with Whitley Bay being cancelled for months (the local authority are adding miles of cycle lanes) Blyth is the nearest on the coast for me. Again, due to ice and frost, there’s has also been cancelled since NYD but finally managed to start up again yesterday. Thought I was doing really badly, very stop/start with my asthma playing up in the cold but managed my first sub 30 since 2022 😏 |

Oh dear, it was all kicking off at Chester parkrun yesterday. Tut tut. "It was brought to our attention earlier by several people that one of the runners (top 10) when attempting to pass a young female said “get out of the way you fucking mong”….. The reported behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and needs to be called out as such. I hope there's also something rather more robust by way of a response in the works from the core team. I don't want to overstate a problem (particularly with respect to an event I know nothing about) but the Facebook comments suggest this isn't an isolated incident. If that's the case then 'we hope the individual is reflecting on his behaviour' doesn't really cut it. |
