Just thought I'd update everyone on last Saturday's arguments with the two bully boys at our local parkrun.

Well, plonker number 1, who insisted that we write down his barcode from his phone, has obviously seen the error of his ways & has not emailed in complaining.

Unfortunately, plonker number 2 seems to think that any rules, just don't apply to him. He emailed in on Monday & complained that his run did not appear in the results & he couldn't see why not having a physical barcode was a problem. As he had committed his parkrun number to memory, he couldn't see why we had a problem writing it down & then inputting it manually into the old laptop. I've got to be a bit diplomatic here, but the person in question, seems to think he's a cut above your average runner.

In his email to the Event Director, he even includes the email address of his personal assistant no less. How posh, he's got a P.A. To cut a long story short, I thought our E.D. sent back a very polite response. Unfortunately, plonker number 2 won't take no for an answer & has already emailed back whingeing & moaning.

Aaarrgghhh, some people. If that's all he's got to worry about in life, he's a lucky bloke.

Give him is entry fee back (I still chortle when I hear that said!) It's a FREE, VOLUNTEER run event. They can tell you to completely F-off if they want, you twit. You are entitled to exactly 100% of NOTHING. You will be given 100% wonderful service if you just do what you are told. Your choice. Eejit!

Where has common courtesy gone?

Out of interest 12bar, how many times has said moaner volunteered vs. times run? Just interested... :-) G

If he can remember his number, he should be able to remember to take his barcode with him.

He'll probably turn up next week with his PA carrying a massive barcode 3ft x 1ft to make an "amusing point". Oh, how you would laugh....

Happy G, you've hit the nail on the head. He has never volunteered. I remember looking up his parkrun details.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember how many runs he's completed, but the fact that he's never volunteered was something I distinctly remember.

Or make his PA run it for him, with the normal credit card sized barcode, key ring fob or wristband that is clearly too hard for him to carry? :-) G
