I really thing Mr Plonker needs referring to HQ. After all, he's such an Important Plonker dealing with the common-or-garden volunteers at the actual event is beneath him really, isn't it?

Then I'd like HQ to de-register him.

This might seem pedantic, but it is actually quite an important distinction:

ED: event director. Person (sometimes persons) with overall responsibility for a particular parkrun. Often the original prime mover(s).

RD: run director*. Person with responsibility for the event on the day (and usually organisational responsibility in the week running up to it).

*Originally known as race director. Oh yes they were :-p

Lazydaisy & Lip Gloss, many thanks for joining in the discussion I started.

I must admit, I do like your solutions to dealing with plonker number 2. To be honest though, I still prefer my original idea, taser the idiot.

I rest my case.

Losing Vitality points is not really valid, as you can get the same number of points for running for 30 mins, or doing 12,500 steps, both of which would be easily achievable if you’ve done parkrun that day...

Also, say she’d run in 29 mins, providing evidence to Vitality it was a parkrun they would probably give you the points anyway.

What LD said. Let HQ deal with him.

We’ve had people take it upon themselves a couple of times to email HQ (and cc: Jo S-H) directly when disgruntled. Each time we knew we would be supported by them, and were.

I'd direct him to HQ too if he persists. What an a*rse. It's a pretty simple rule. Glad I don't work for him.
