I extension told me that the most I've done in a 1 year was 51 in both 2016 and 2017; I felt bad about taking their record from them so having hit 51 for 2018 on Christmas day I'll be volunteering this Saturday.

It will be the third time this year I have given up a run to volunteer :p

Twice this year I've given up a volunteer spot and just had a run instead :P

No Velo not me.

Just find it stunning that people are chuffed to go every single week yet don't actually miss a run.

If we all avoided static non run roles there would be no parkrun.

I rarely miss any, but do set up most weeks including Christmas Day

Im happy that I do my bit. And more importantly, my fellow park runners are happy. This issue just doesn't come up, we just get on with it!

If the event was under jeopardy , there's plenty , including me, that would step in.

Perhaps at others theres issues, but where I run we do just fine...

Sorry everyone my bad. I'm a relic from a time long past and should probably stay there :¬)
