Just getting organised to head off down south for a gathering of the In-Laws. Planning to run at Dishley/Loughborough tomorrow - if anybody sees a tall, grey haired bloke with a Fetch hoodie and/or old style Buff, please come and say hello. Run Directing part 2 of the new Barrow/Fell Foot double on NYD. Looking forward to both. |

I'm afraid I'm with Gobi. I'm sure a lot of people think parkrun runs smoothly & their run has plenty of volunteers but the reality is often a lot of those regulars stand in last minute or feel obligated too to ensure the event can go ahead. As I think I've probably banged on about often enough - other thsn a few exceptions if you can rock up & run every week at 9am you can rock up & volunteer & think about helping out once in a while.

Yup, agreed. When I'm injured I volunteer quite happily to keep involved, but when I usually volunteer, yes I enjoy it, but given the choice I'd much rather be running. I also hate to think that Gobi feels he can't post in here just because his viewpoint is against the prevailing mood. |

I also hate to think that Gobi feels he can't post in here just because his viewpoint is against the prevailing mood. This about sums up the fetch forum for me. It is now easier not to bother. |

I like to hear Gobi's opinions, they come from a well informed standpoint. it's not as though he's being controversial and trolling about something he doesn't know anything about.

Agree with Maz - there should be enough room in here for a range of opinions. Just got PSH's review of the parkrun year, including their "parkrunforever" donation platform. All good in principle but I can imagine it turning into a weekly request for standing orders... |

Doogs - parkrunforever ? Not heard of this but will be sceptical if it is a central funding donation pot.
