Just getting organised to head off down south for a gathering of the In-Laws. Planning to run at Dishley/Loughborough tomorrow - if anybody sees a tall, grey haired bloke with a Fetch hoodie and/or old style Buff, please come and say hello.

Run Directing part 2 of the new Barrow/Fell Foot double on NYD.

Looking forward to both.

I'm afraid I'm with Gobi. I'm sure a lot of people think parkrun runs smoothly & their run has plenty of volunteers but the reality is often a lot of those regulars stand in last minute or feel obligated too to ensure the event can go ahead. As I think I've probably banged on about often enough - other thsn a few exceptions if you can rock up & run every week at 9am you can rock up & volunteer & think about helping out once in a while.

Yup, agreed. When I'm injured I volunteer quite happily to keep involved, but when I usually volunteer, yes I enjoy it, but given the choice I'd much rather be running.

I also hate to think that Gobi feels he can't post in here just because his viewpoint is against the prevailing mood.

This about sums up the fetch forum for me. :-)

It is now easier not to bother.

I like to hear Gobi's opinions, they come from a well informed standpoint. it's not as though he's being controversial and trolling about something he doesn't know anything about.

Agree with Maz - there should be enough room in here for a range of opinions.

Just got PSH's review of the parkrun year, including their "parkrunforever" donation platform. All good in principle but I can imagine it turning into a weekly request for standing orders...

Doogs - parkrunforever ? Not heard of this but will be sceptical if it is a central funding donation pot.
