Minimal risk of crowding or pushing in at Crosby parkrun - the 'course' varies in width from 30-yard wide grassy paths, promenade 4 yards wide and, to finish, sandy beach almost devoid of people. The slipway & prom form a ready-made funnel.

I cheered on the 147 finishers alongside an Iron Man 'marshall' in reflective bib and two enthusiastic young volunteers, then resumed my run. :)

As I'm 'trapped' in Wallingford this weekend, I completed my first ever bit of parkrun tourism at Didcot parkrun this morning. There were quite a few first timers, loads of tourists doing the alphabet challenge and everyone was really friendly :-) It was bloody boiling though and not much shade :-O

Not seen this before... 'Unknown ATHLETE F' in 2nd place at Market Harborough. With a blank number of runs but a 250 icon. A placeholder?

"Unknown athlete F" is an option sometimes used by teams to set the gender of an unknown runner to female. You most often see it used if the first female was unknown, and the team would like to correct the gender positions.

It acts just like a normal athlete barcode so can only be entered once in a set of results, and it also has a run history,

There is no age or home run set and although I've never seen it confirmed this suggests that it was created by one of the development team. There is no official guidance on its use but people find out about it and use it as we can see from the 280 occasions it has been used.

We had a mob match at Bracknell parkrun yesterday between Bracknell Forest Runner sand Datchet Dashers and it was made quite clear, multiple times, during the briefing that "parkrun is a ran and not a RACE". Then we had 3..2..1 of and we all ran as hard as we could, were timed and scored on our finishing positions and a winning team was declared (well done BFR, honours shared after we won at our home event). 3 and a bit laps, dogs, buggies, slow runners, fast runners, all seemed to have a nice time and enjoyed it and people were mature enough to understand that lapping was going to happen and a bit of lane discipline was all that was needed.
