Aha. I understand. Thank you.

I don't think anyone has ever called me a hero for anything. Which is how it should be :)

Linds - I used the phrase, I'm just a volunteer when asked something and this HERO went off at me about how it was so much more :-)

Been reading the comments about the volunteer T shirts - I think the higher number ones are a recent thing aren't they? I know of at least one runner who has been doing parkrun as a runner every week for a very long time yet does not volunteer (unless pacers are required). Just recently I have noticed this individual ripping the finish funnel out of the ground the second the tail walker has gone through it and thus getting a credit for volunteering (helping with take down). I can't help but think this must have something to do with wanting to get a 100 T shirt and while I appreciate that helping tidy up is still worthwhile and many don't do it as far as I can see it is rarely a job that nobody else is there to do anyway unlike marshalling out at the far end of the course near the dog bin for example or one that means you can't run too such as finish tokens or timekeeper.

Sadly I can't make the 11th HoD, I was one of the has to be the 4th or can't play , seems a few of us are unavailable :¬(

Baroness - many an argument/discussion on should pacing count as volunteering and should points be awarded if you don't actually give up your run. I know at Newbury for a while we pushed hard on the point being sacrifice for others rather than "conveniently" helping. Pretty sure in the long run I lost this discussion and you get points for all sorts of pointless shit :¬)

Is it a good idea to run with a bad cold? Even if it means going round slowly?
Can't decide whether to bother tomorrow

I just wish the volunteer teeshirts were completely different colours to the the running achievements…I first saw that last photo and thought it was your r250 . I love the lilac colour of v25. I just think they would stand out more in a crowd.

Completely agree. I was thinking about a v100 one but I'm not that bothered about another black t shirt

It can be quite a bad idea HT. Check your resting heart rate, is it higher than usual? Have a walk nearby and see how it affects your heart rate. If anything shows a higher than normal heart rate for gentle activities then consider giving it a miss. Viral infections in particular can have long term effects on the heart.
