57.5 Degrees of Pain
Making my first visit to Belfast. Friend is doing the planning but Ormeau looks likely.

I love Ormeau park. Haven't done the parkrun yet, the NI ones I've done have been outside Belfast.

Planning on doing Hafan Pwllheli on Saturday at the end of our holiday. Am a little scared as it’s all on sand but I have been doing a bit of beach running this week.

I’m on the info@ email address for my running club and an email from the ED of a local, fairly new, parkrun has just come through, asking us to publicise the parkrun to our club members. Seemed a bit odd, but it’s genuine, and the ED also requested to join our members only Facebook page, which I declined, as she’s not a member of the club.

I’ve not had this before. Is this something that other EDs do? I’m pretty sure any club member who is into parkrun will already know about this event, which has had 17 outings up until now.

We would often promote via local clubs - especially for milestones - such as out recent 300 run. Then again I am ED and a club sec so it a bit easier. Getting clubs involved is useful for club and parkrun so EDs do use it.

I did Ormeau parkrun last year as it was the nearest one to where I was staying. It is a nice one and pretty quick, too.

Belfast has loads of parkruns, I want to go back and do some of the others.

My local parkrun is off on 19th August so I was thinking about doing a different one. I did look at train times to get to the Curly Wurly mark two at Woolwich but it is a pretty painful journey at that time of the morning. So I will probably do something else.

Perhaps they want to tap your club up for volunteers
