The easiest one to get to on public transport isn't actually my home one nor my second choice local one but it's the only one with a bus stop near me

Two available to me within about a half hour drive (hour and a half by public transport - and one of those would involve arriving just after eight) with maybe another four within three quarters of an hour. Fewer than half a dozen more within an hour. Public transport options would be no better with a 9:30 start. Guess that's one of the 'downsides' of choosing to live in a tiny village on the edge of scenic nowhere :)

I have no idea how I would get to any of my local parkruns by public transport. They would all involve at least 2 buses.

When I started parkrunning it was encouraged that you used public transport and that seemed to be one of the criteria of where they were set up.

Due to not having access to our car on a Saturday morning, I have to use public transport or rely on a lift.

Luckily in West Yorkshire I’m able to access quite a few ;)

Public transport as a pre-requisite would drastically limit the communities that could host a parkrun once you go away from the biggest cities

I have two parkruns about a 35 minute run away and two others that ate closer to 50 minutes and so all 4 are doable as part of a medium/long run.

The next two closest though are 10+ miles away and so could be runnable one way but need a bus home

I’ve one that is a 15min easy run away. I’ve then got 3 that are a 20-30min drive away, two of which wouldn’t be possible to reach easily by public transport. Probably got about another 6-8 around an hour’s drive away. But if you look at the parkrun map for the South West, it’s not that densely populated, so I do feel very lucky to have one that I can easily run to from home.

In other news I’m currently on 49 different locations, over 8 countries. No firm plans for my 50th location just yet, although I expect it’ll coincide with a weekend away somewhere.

I've got one 1.5 miles away so can jog or cycle over. The next nearest is about 4.5 miles by bike.

I live 1.5 miles from the railway station, so there are a few I can get to by train (and I've gone to a couple by train when I had a season ticket so thought I might as well get extra use out of it). We have rubbish buses so can't get anywhere by bus, but have gone to others by bus eg in Dublin and the Channel Islands.

Yeah, I went by bus to ones in Edinburgh and Salzburg, amongst others. The Salzburg one was good as the bus was basically full of (mainly British) parkrunners, for what is quite a small event. Without checking, I think I’ve done 4 in London, and have used the tube to get to the ones I’ve done there.
