When visiting England I've sometimes found the 9 o'clock starts and public transport systems incompatible, even when trying to get to the nearest parkrun only a few miles away

This is often the case for running events generally. If people want to make running a more eco-friendly pasttime they need to tie in race start times with public transport availability, but I think councils are more worried about Sunday shoppers not being inconvenienced by a race closing the roads.

Actually it's only just occurred to me that maybe Crystal Palace was cancelled that day. But I think I would have checked beforehand (it was some years ago now, maybe something like 2017).

1 Scottish parkrun from 176 locations.

Likely to be expanding on that by 2 in the next few weeks with 1 in Glasgow (probably Queen's) and 1 somewhere around Aberdeen (probably Crathes).

Turns out that as of Saturday, I've no longer done all the parkruns in the former postal county of South Humberside, which was my only complete collection (and a bit of a made-up one at that).

I'm hoping to maybe work on my "Utter Kent" or whatever it's called next weekend, and maybe try to bag a W for the alphabet too...

That will probably be my issue when I do the English ones later in the year although I have taken screenshots of the helpful tips I got on this thread regarding the ones they said would be closest to me.

Weath let us know if you are heading to Crathes. It's my local.

Thanks, will do 😁.

It'll be 26th August if I get there. It's a close call between a few events at the moment. I'm in that horrible position of trying to decide whether to take the opportunity of prioritising a tourist 'challenge' or just going with the flow. So many events, so little time ...

I don't drive but reckon I can get to 80 parkruns on the morning of the run by public transport ? alot depends on starting location - conversely I have a parkrun 12 miles away that I can't get to by public transport for 9am (cycling the only option, or bribing someone for a lift with a free breakfast.
