Timekeeper today. Had two discrepancies with the other timer. One was a really tricky situation I haven’t seen before. A young lad regularly does parkrun on a wheeled aid in around 23 mins. Today he had a huge group behind him most of whom just filed in behind but a couple tried to pass on the line. I reckon we had about 10 clicks required in less than a second. One of us must have got one less or too many.

RD today and it was a 'Fibonacci'. Was expecting larger than usual numbers despite HQ discouraging the challenge. We actually had less than last week.

If only you had some bagpipes, V'rap. It was Drumpellier's fourth birthday today and our local piper (Falkirk/Plean regular) was there. I heard him say after he hoped he was getting a volunteer credit for it.

I never knew it was the birthday today, but thought something was afoot as the main parking was full. The RD gave the briefing from a grassy knoll, rather than by the start (better, as he was elevated and had the wind at his back) then the piper led everyone a loop through the finish and back up to the start.

For the curious, there's a video facebook.com

Well, there you go. Easier to transport, for one thing. He runs as well (quite quickly) but it does take him a few minutes to pack his pipes away. Flew past me in his kilt at about 300m today.

Chucked it down at Greenwich today. Timekeepers eventually resorted to standing under a tree off to the side of the finish line. BBC weather app was still report8ng a 0% chance of rain :-)
