I was blue start JJJ. I was calling runners when the pens opened and chasing the stragglers to get into their designated pens. Great fun!

We had a big marathon-boosted turnout this weekend - 450. Up by over 100 from the previous week.
A lot of the visitors were, of course, running on Sunday - a couple of them even recognised us and gave us a shout as they ran past our cheerpoint at Mile 16.5!

Great work Pothunter. I've marshalled at Edinburgh marathon, it's quite nerve wracking at big events. I had to help some of the elites too - can you imagine mucking up one of their marathons with a bit of wrong info or direction! G

We're away for a family thing this weekend, so hoping to visit Lancaster parkrun on Saturday.

I went to Philips parkrun last week and parked at the Asda nearby. It's not the parkrun approved car park, although coffee after parkrun is advertised as being in the Asda cafe. There were a lot of parkrunners parking there so I parked up at around 8.40am and didn't think anything of it. I then hobbled around it with my various injuries and ailments in a cracking time of 47 minutes and after chatting to a couple from Huddersfield went back to my car, popped (sorry I mean hobbled is more accurate) in to the in-store Greggs for a latte and then headed for home at around 10:10am.
I've just received a parking ticket from the private firm who manage the car park as I was there for more than one hour which is, according to the terms and conditions of use the maximum time that you can park there and it's a £40 fine. I am minded to pay it mainly because I can't face the hassle of getting into an argument about it, but I do think that parkrun should be very wary of endorsing the parkrun cafe if it's putting runners at risk of getting a parking ticket. It won't be an issue if you park, run sub-30 and go again, but it's not ideal for slower runners or walkers and anyone could spend time in Asda shopping or the cafe and wind up in a similar situation. I'm planning to let Philips parkrun know what happened, obviously it's up to them if they carry on using the Asda cafe, but it was a bit upsetting as it's the first time I've had a parkrun related parking issue.

Minnie Mad - 1hr sounds quite tight if someone was going to the cafe and then doing their shop anyway!
