Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have, but it wasn't that memorable. Tricky underfoot in wet weather and quite slow is my vague memory.

A poignant moment at Exmouth parkrun today. There was a minutes silence in memory of Patrick. He ran three weeks ago and shortly after collapsed and died.

I looked at the results and he was a little ahead of me.
Who knows what he was feeling during the race, I can only assume that he was feeling fine which is why he ran, and why it happened is something to ponder.
The RD said his wife and kids were there today, that must have been hard for them.
He wasn't old, in the 55-59 category.
I was thinking about it all the way round. RIP Patrick.

Such events do make you think, especially how he was feeling before and during the run. Sounds like a nice thing to do and would be well observed

I saw the FB post from Exmouth this morning, Teddy :-( .
I marshalled in Gloucestershire today and there was a chap running who I thought 'now there's a heart attack waiting to happen' - in his 50s, very overweight and finding the relatively easy course a struggle. But then I thought about a clubmate who would not have fitted that description who had a cardiac arrest completely out of the blue, so you can never tell. Carpe diem and all that.
