Thanks, @Welshpoppy :) That's the challenge, isn't it? Not getting ill, not getting injured, and not developing health issues that could limit running.

Summed up perfectly! With the greatest will and desire to be the best that we can those pesky hurdles don't make it easy. I hope you are able to continue to build and improve. It is nice to follow your progress 😊

Yes, and unfortunately more likely as we age πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ. Welcome to V60+.…!

My problem at the moment is work though. Struggling a bit with some urgent software coding, which is taking a toll on my prep for the 10k race in less than 2 weeks. Perhaps not be just physical agility that has taken a hit ....😟?

Somewhat dramatic turn of events here. Yours truly signed up as a member of a running club for the first time ever at the tender age of 76! An official NZ Athletics affiliated club at that (albeit as a 'Social' member); nightninjas.run
facebook.com

One immediate advantage being half price to register for the local Orewa 10k race on the 20th. Saved $32.50, making the net cost of the Night Ninjas membership for the first year just $11.50 πŸ˜‰. Already know a number of the members as they are fairly heavily involved in the local parkrun.

Look forward to seeing a photo in the new club kit, @NZD !

Working yesterday and today so little in the way of training yesterday, although I did manage to exceed my 10,000 steps. Just back from a short run, or rather, short slog. Two times eight minutes with a minute recovery, plus a little more to finish; struggled on that last bit as it was uphill. Eight minutes is, I believe, the longest continuous run since Feb 23rd.

Wordle in five times two.

@alehouse 8 minutes run segments sounds like good progress.
I am now in week 8 of my modified C25K programme. In the past two weeks have been increasing the duration of jog segments steadily, though still cautiously. Yesterday my jog segments were 10 min, 18 min, 20 min. My knee remains happy.

That sounds excellent, @Canute ! You are some way ahead of me! I am definitely being cautious!

I forgot to congratulate @Velociraptor on her metric marathon...so well done!
