Oh my word Hann I am devastated for you, I pray that they can now get you the treatment and keep you here for a long time to come. Another real cost of covid. Sending my thoughts to you. I have a long (long) history (& surgeries) due to endometriosis. Around 14yrs ago (10yr after a hysterectomy) I was getting a dragging pain in my right side of my tummy. I almost ignored it as there was nothing else they could really do for me other than to live with the discomfort from time to time, but in the end I went to the doctors purely as it was right hand side and thought what if its appendix. Turned out to be my ovaries, they were (in the doctors words) turning nasty and the recommendation was to have them removed rather than risk it becoming cancerous. Post op it was confirmed they were pre-cancerous. I would always advocate getting checked out earlier than later even if there is discomfort/embarrassment/ostrich tendencies. |

Yup, I have always tested for everything on offer and would have have the preventative surgery too. Not the double mastectomy, I felt that could be screened satisfactorily. For ovarian cancer there is no screening and it invariably manifests when it is late stages 😩

bigleggy I feel for you as you are in a difficult position. At the end of the day you can't force her and it has to be her decision, so hassling her probably won't help. Just a thought though, would she consider taking someone she trusted with her to the appointments to help with anxiety or concerns (I believe this is usually possible)? 🤔

Thanks geordiegirl ☺️ It does feel rather unfair, but no point "what iffing" or blaming government or NHS. I am in the care of some excellent doctors and nurses with great compassion. Let's just say they are working hard to reverse "the damage"... |
